Rankin Took Our Photos. Yes, That Rankin.

Sometimes things happen that make you stop, look around, and say: this is actually mad.

This was one of those moments.

For context, Rankin is one of the world’s most famous celebrity photographers. A British icon. The man behind portraits of Kate Moss, David Bowie, The Queen, and a list that genuinely goes on forever. If you’ve seen an iconic British portrait in the last thirty years, chances are Rankin had something to do with it.

And now, somehow, Flat White or F*ck Off is on that list.

How it happened

We were already out shooting content in the middle of London. Running around, doing FWOFO things, moving fast, making noise, doing cool shit. Then the phone rings.

A slot has opened up.

“Can you get across town right now?”

The shoot is with a guy called Rankin.

At this point, you don’t ask questions. You move.

Because the whole ethos of FWOFO has always been simple: say yes, move fast, don’t overthink it. Flat white or f*ck off applies to more than coffee.

So we dropped everything, jumped across London, and walked into Rankin Live.

What is Rankin Live?

Every year, Rankin runs a project called Rankin Live, where he opens his studio and photographs members of the public. No celebrities. No special treatment. Just raw, honest portraits, shot quickly, instinctively, and without fuss.

Which, honestly, made it feel even more perfect.

This wasn’t a polished campaign or a carefully planned collaboration. It was momentum meeting opportunity at exactly the right speed.

The shoot

We walked in. Cameras up. Lights on. No overproduction. No drama.

Fast decisions. Quick direction. Trust the process.
